Figure 1: Labelled diagram of the brain. It displays the corpus callosum, cerebrum, cerebellum, hypothalamus, pituitary, pons, medulla oblongata, and the spinal cord.

The brain has five different parts that must all work together in order for the brain to function correctly. The five parts of the brain include; the cerebrum, the cerebellum, the hypothalamus, the brain stem, and the pituitary gland. There are also 3 sections of the brain which are classified as forbrain, mid brain, and the hind brain. Located in the forebrain is the cerebrum, and olfactory lobes.

The Cerebrum: The cerebrum is the largest part of the human brain, that makes up about 85% of the brains weight. This part of the brain is responsible for thinking, and controlling voluntary muscles. In our everyday live we use the cerebrum to do our critcal thinking, and probelm solving. So whether it be, playing a game, or doing your math homework , your cerbrum is responsible. Antoher importance of the cerebrum is that this is where your memory is located, both short term and long term. Therefore if one is expreiencing difficulties remembering what you did after work yesterday, or remebering what you did 5 minutes ago, it means that there is a problem occuring in your cerebrum.
